One Week Live

Every September we host a week-long celebration of original music. 20 groups are recorded and we mix, master, and release the CD every February. We have 9 CD's so far!

The Team

With a staff of only about 10 people it's astonishing how many different goals a coffeehouse can accomplish! It's apparent that this small group of people are not typical employees.

Creative, dedicated, open-minded, focused, passionate, artistic, musical, determined, and friendly are just a few words to define these amazing people.

Working & Creating Together

Beaner's Central is powered by its employees ideas and creativity. New menu ideas and appetizers, lunch and drink specials, advertising and marketing, many special events, and arranging the stores layout and decor are commonly employed by everyone on the staff. The owner, Jason Wussow, believes it's important for everyone on the team to share their creativity if they desire.

Our pies, for example, are made in-house by an employee who mentioned that she would like to try some ideas out. Our homemade chocolate cup cakes are made by another employee. The owner's sister came up with the idea of making fresh fruit parfaits with homemade granola! This is only a partial list of great employee ideas! Actually, it doesn't even scratch the surface!

Everyone works together to make our place unique, creative, and fun for the customers as well as the staff.

Our Staff Fun Facts

The owner, Jason Wussow, was in the bands 'Flux Skapacitor', 'No Room to Pogo' and now 'Yeltzi' & 'The Branditos'.

Office Manager, Christopher, was in the band 'The Brushstrokes' & has been studying Russian for a decade.

Operations Manager, Laura, is a second degree blackbelt and also teaches martial arts.

Our barista, Amy, comes up with new pie ideas and bakes them from scratch. Delicious!

Barista Jesse is the head of scheduling as well as helping to maintain order on the floor.

One of our baristas, Justin, was in the band 'The Tinsel Fairies'. And is still a rocker in the Duluth music scene.

Barista Becca is fascinated with aircrafts. She hopes to be piloting her own in the future.

Barista Sam is also a musician and can be heard on one of our live compilation CDs.

Barista Chad was in the band 'MC Squared' and is our sound guy for Open Mic. Also, furthering his education in the medical field.

Studio engineer, Dan, was in the band 'The Brushstrokes' and is now in 'Three Song Sunday'. Also, 'Cooking on the Car' guy.
