It all began in the summer of 1999. The main
purpose was to create a welcoming atmosphere
for anyone who loved great conversation, amazing
coffee, healthy food, and the best original music...
a place to socialize during the day, work or study
in the afternoon, or enjoy concerts at night.
During our first 10 years, we have found our place
with awesome 'regulars', our amazing staff, local
and national touring musicians, and the great
community of West Duluth. We thank you for your
endless support!
Into the second decade of our existence, we are proud
of our achievments and growth into new areas of service
that far exceed our initial goals established so many years ago!
Our new conference and meeting rooms above the coffehouse
offer a private and relaxing setting for small parties and business meetings.
Yearly gift sales and monthly art openings let people showcase their
passion and hard work!
The creation of our recording studio offers musicians the
opportunity to have their live shows recorded, mixed, and mastered
at resonable prices with very little effort.
Looking forward, we, the staff of Beaner's Central,
are dedicated to continue the best service,
conversation, friendship, and musical

History Fun Facts
Barry Pirkola of 'The Fractals' painted the mural that is
the backdrop on our stage.
Beaner's Central is a major player in Duluth's 'original'
music scene and hosts local, national, and international
musicians.
On average, baristas stay at Beaner's Central for
about three years. That's amazing since we've been open since 1999!
We have 9 live cds. Each recorded live
at our week-long bash every September. Over 180 original
songs!
